Not a Macintosh laptop. Rather, it's a mini-laptop running Newton OS. This particular example has had the screen hinge fix done, and is modified to use 4 AA batteries, so I can easily change them, or use rechargeable AAs. The OS has been patched so that it can correctly display the date in 2010.
I still use this when I don't want to lug my laptop around and just need to do some light typing. I connect it to my laptop or desktop using a Keyspan serial-to-USB adapter, and NCX software. It connects to my late 2009 iMac running OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, and theoretically will connect to my mid-2011 Macbook Air running OS X 10.0 Yosemite.
