Birth was recorded as June 18, 1881, Birth Record No. 1, p. 73 at County Courthouse, St. Marys, Pleasants Co., WV. The certificate was not filed until January 11, 1946. Her parents were Charles Wesley Locke and Suranda Horner.29

Family records had said she was born June 17, 1881, Jacksonburg, WV. Her obituary identified her as sister of William Locke.

The 1947 Pittsburgh City Directory shows the following listing:

Her address in 1950 was 508 River Ave. in Pittsburgh.

Death Notice, Pittsburgh Press, May 6, 1960, p. 41:
“Grimm--On Thursday, May 5, 1960, Emma Locke, wife of the late Edward Grimm, of 1216 Arch St.; beloved mother of Arless, Charles, Alva, Harry and Elmer Grimm; sister of William Locke; also 29 grandchildren. Friends received at the Joseph A. Peppert Sons Funeral Home, 711 Lockhart St. Funeral on Monday with services at 1 p.m.”
