Misc. Notes
Loren A. Thurman has an email from Fran Denny dated June 17, 2000 that reads “Recently I visited the grave of David Coon in Uniontown Cemetery in Salem Township, Knox County, Maguon, Illinos. While there I saw mary’s parent’s graves: William W. and Prissilla Jane Darnall. (Notice the spelling of her first name, and also the “a” in the last name. This is from the tombstone.) In this same cemetery were the graves of Mary’s grandparents: Phebe and Thomas A. Thurman and James Thomas and Mary Darnall.”
357William and Priscilla owned a large amount of land in Knox Co., IL and lived comfortably there according to the appraisal of William’s property. He donated the land on which the school was built. Having 13 children he said it was only fair that he give the land since he would probably have more children in the school than anyone else. Priscilla and William had six sons in the Civil War, all of whom returned home safely.
