From his obituary:
“George P. Myers of Alma died Tuesday forenoon Feburary 9, 1932. The immediate cause of his death was hemorrhage of the brain following flu and kidney complication. He had been sick about three weeks. Mr. Myers was a native of Sugar Creek, a son of the late Enos Myers and Lucinda Fetty Myers. He was born December 13, 1878, therefore was in his 71 year.
He was married to ‘Did’ Stealey and to this union is one son, Claud Myers of Bridgeway. His second wife was Jane Grimm of Bearsville. To this union are the following children, Mrs. Mansfield Ash of Alma, Mrs. Samuel Ferrell of West Union, C. L. Myers of Alma, John Myers of Shirely and Mrs. Arza Lemasters of Tyler City. One son, Jesse died in camp at the beginning of the World War.
He is survived also by sisters, Mrs. Mansfield Ash of Adonis and Mrs. John Allen of Wick.
Mr. Myers was a farmer and contractor and served this county one term as county commissioner. He was a public spirited citizen and was well known in this section of the state. Many years ago he united with the United Brethren Church and during the meeting this winter renewed his activities in church work.
Funeral services were held Thursday at two o’clock. Interment was in Beechwood Cemetery by director, Sellers.”
