“Robert A. Acklin Sr.
Robert Allen Acklin Sr., 67, of Dawson, died Monday, May 24, 1999, in his home.
He was born Oct. 21, 1931, in Brownsville, a son of the late Wilbur Acklin Sr. and Rose Dzurek Acklin.
He was a member of St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis. He was also a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge and the Catholic Sokols, both of Perryoolis. He was employed for 20 years at the Layton Fabric Company in Layton.
Survivors include three sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert A. and Patricia Acklin jr. of Lower Tyrone Township, Ronald A. Acklin of Natrona, and Roger A. Acklin of Denbo; two daughters and sonis-in-law, Sandra S. Acklin Alexander and Harry Alexander of Hagerstown, Md., and Mary Ann and Edward Kerestes of Belle Vernon; seven grandchildren, Robert A. Acklin III, Danielle E. Acklin Anderson, Sherry Alexander Koch, Harry Alexander III, Roger A. Acklin Jr., Christopher Acklin, and Christine Humer; two stepgrandchildren, Edward R. and Vicky Kerestes; two sisters, Eleanor Ehlers of West Brownsville and Margaret Sawyer of Brownsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Rockwell Acklin, and one brother, Wilbur Acklin Jr.
There will be no public visitation. The Ralph E. Galley Funeral Home,Dawson, is in charge of the arrangements.”
