Obituary:
Naomi McClelland Whipkey, 83, Wind Ridge R.D. 1, died at 6:01 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 1991 in Greene County Memorial Hospital, after being ill for the last three months.
She was born October 21, 1907, in Graysville, a daughter of James B. and Goldie Chess McClelland.
Mrs. Whipkey lived most of her life in Richhill Township. She attended Trinity High School.
She was a member of the Long Run Church of God and was a former Sunday school teacher and deaconess at the church.
On May 13, 1925 she married Paul L. Whipkey, who died October 26, 1987.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Dorothy) Lohr of Holbrook R.D. 1; two grandchildren, Richard P. Lohr and Bonnie Nice; four great-grandchildren; and a sister Albert Woods of Anaheim, Calif.
Deceased are a sister, Anna Parry; two brothers, Milburn and James McClelland; and a brother who died in infancy.”
213“Whipkey--Friends of Naomi Whipkey of Wind Ridge R.D. 1 who died THursday January 3, 1991, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 6, with the Revs. Dennis Dawson and Jack Gray officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Richhill Township.”
