VIsiting Mom, Soldier Dies
Services for SFC George W. Bills, 39, an Akron soldier stationed in Germany who died while home on emergency leave to visit his ailing mother, will be Monday at 3 p. m. in the Schermesser Funeral Home.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren H. Bills Sr., he died Thursday in Ft. Meade, Md. He had been in the U. S. Army 16 years. He was born in Waverly, W. Va., and came to Akron as a child. He lived here 19 years.
Sgt. Bills, who formerly lived at 1354 Getz st., was a member of South Akron Eagles.
Besides his parents, he leaves brothers, Warren H. Jr. and Robert L., both of Akron, and sisters, Mrs. Ruth Rowe of Akron, Mrs. Helen McHenry of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Juanita Thompson of Cuyahoga Falls.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 p. m. Sunday and until service time Monday. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
