Birthday Surprise Party
The home of W. M. Hess at Pullman was the scene of a birthday party, celebrating the 44[th] anniversary of Mrs. Hess's brother, C. S. Grimm. A great many guests were present. They began arriving about 10 A. M., big, ilttle [sic] old and young until noon when the house was filled to overflowing and Oh such eats, nobody going away until thoroughly satisfied. A number of useful presents were received. About the middle of the afternoon the guests began departing for their homes, all report the day well spent.
Mr[.] Grimm until recently was propietor [sic] of the Arlington Hotel at Pennsboro, which place he managed successfully for a number of years, being forced to return on account of his health. He has been making his home for the past several months with his sister and other relatives at Pullman.
