Pedestrian Hit By Auto, Dies

A 70-year-old pedestrian, Harry B. Grimm of San Jose, died at Mills hospital yesterday morning of injuries incurred Saturday night when he was hit by a car driven by a Redwood City post office employee, Clarence LeRoy White. Two other accidents were reported by police for the week-end.

White, whos home is at 431 MacArthur street, Redwood City, told police he was driving north in the slow lane when Grimm loomed up before him, running from the west side of the highway. Although he swerved his car, White said, he was unable to avoice hitting Grimm. White was not held.

Grimm died at 9:15 a.m. yesterday of multiple injuries.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at the chapel of Crosby-N. Gray. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. E. G. Mincer of Chicago. Interment will be at Woodlawn memorial park. His home was at 33 South Market street, San Jose.
