CAROLINE MURRAY GRIMM
Caroline Murray Grimm, the subject of this sketch, was born in County Clare, Ireland, May 1, 1840, and departed from this life at her home near White Pine on July 18, 1920, at aged 80 years, 2 month, and 17 days.

At an early age she, with her father, came to the United States. Her mother having died in Ireland. After traveling extensively throughout the United States and Canada, they settled in Jefferson County, Ohio, where she spent her childhood days and grew to young womanhood.

In 1856 she was married to David C. Grimm, of Greene County, Pennsylvania, where they founded their home and resided for several years. Later they moved to Calhoun County, where she resided until her death. Her husband having preceded her to the better world twelve years ago.

To this union were born twelve children, all of whom survive. They are; O. F. Grim of Parkersburg, George of Richwood, Mrs. Evelyn Riggs of Wheeling; Mrs. Frank Wilson of Dekalb; Newt, John, Frank Grimm, Mrs. M. J. Ayers, Mrs. Francis Kelly, and Miss Priscilla Grimm, Mrs. Laura Simmers, all of this county.

Grandma Grimm, as she was familiarly known, was a noble woman, kind and gentle, and always ready to help those in need. She had kind words and a smile for everybody and was loved by all who knew her. How sadly she will be missed. No more we'll see her smiling face or hear her gentle voice, but we know she stands with the Redeemed of God singing praises to Him of whom she loved so much to sing while here.

She was converted in early youth and joined the Baptist Church. Later was a charter member of the Number Seven Chapel Church, remaining faithful and loyal until she was called to join the church triumphant.

Grandma had not been strong for some time, but took seriously ill only a few hours before her death which was due to acute indigestion. On July 25, 1920 at Number Seven she was tenderly laid to rest. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Whitt Stump of Russett, and undertaker Ira N. Stump had charge of the remains.
