“A. A. Buchanan, 48, of Key, Dies
Demise of Key Confectionery-Filling Station Operator Is Unexpected
Albert A. Buchanan, 48, Key, died about 7 a. m. today, shortly after he was found unconscious by his wife, Mrs. Emma Buchanan. Death was attributed to myocarditis, superinduced by acute indigestion, according to J. W. Neal, Belmont county coroner, who investigated.
When Mrs. Buchanan went to the filling station-confectionery at Key operated by her husband for Ami Workman, she failed to arouse her husband and looking through a window noticed that his appearance was not natural. Calling their daughter, Callie, they broke a basement window and entered the upstairs, finding Mr. Buchanan was apparently seriously ill. Dr. C. H. Cale was called but found life extinct.
Mr. Buchanan had been sleeping in a rear room of the confectionery due to the fact that the place had been robbed three times within a week recently.
Mr. Buchanan had not been ill, was in Bellaire yesterday and worked in his garden Friday evening. He went to bed about 10 p. m.
Surviving the deceased, who was a former Big Run miner, are his wife, and daughter, also two other children, Naomi and Ralla, both of the home.”
