“Ozias Deem, 80, Taken Today at South Side
Ozias Deem, aged 80, died this morning about 2 0’clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. L. C. Matheny of Central Avenue, South Parkersburg, following a stroke of paralysis. He had been a resident of South Side for a number of years.
He leaves five daughters, Mrs. G. Stukey, Mrs. L. C. Matheny, Mrs. T. J. Harper, Mrs. C. E. Smith and Mrs. E. W. Valentine and one son M. E. Deem, all of this city and forty-two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. from the Pilgrim Holiness Church on South Side with the Rev. Elmer Joy officiating. Interment will be made in Foley’s Cemetery.”

“Aged Man To Be Buried This Afternoon; Entertainment in Lubeck School
Funeral services for Ozias Deem, 80, who died at the home of his daughter Mrs. L. C. Matheny of Central Avenue, South Parkersburg, Saturday morning will be held at the Pilgreim Holiness Church this afternoon at 3:30 o’clock. Rev. Elmer D. Joy pastor will officiate and burial will be made in Foley Cemetery. Rev. H. M. Hendricks will assist at the funeral.
Mr. Deem suffered a stroke of paralysis which resulted in his death. He had been a resident of South Side for many years. he is survived by five daughters,k Mrs. G. Stukey, Mrs. L. C. Matheny, Mrs. T. J. Harper, Mrs. C. E. Smith and Mrs. E. W. Valentine and one son M. E. Deem, all of this city and 32 grandchildren. Moses Deem of Eldorado, Kansas is a brother.”
