Thorn, Ulysses Grant, a resident of RD 1, Friendly, died Wednesday [no date] in the Veteran’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born in Tyler County on September 28, 1891, he was the son of the late Luther and Clara Grimm Thorn. The deceased was a former employee of the Potter Supply Company of East Liverpool, Oh. Surviving are one son, Martin of Wellsville, Oh; six sisters, Mrs. Herma Shiver of New Cumberland, Mrs. Dora Ray of Bridgeport, Mrs. Olive Shriver of Sistersville, Mrs. Raymond L. (Grace) Stewart and Mrs. Ethel Cowgill both of Friendly, and Mrs. Gladys Northrop of St. Marys; and one grandson. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Ruttencutter Funeral Home in St. Marys. Friends may call at the residence of Mrs. Raymond L. Stewart in Friendly. Services will be held Friday at the Little Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
