Obituary, Morning Observer, Washington, PA, Apr. 13, 1942:
“Sturgis G. Grim
Sturgis G. Grim, Washington, R. D. 5, died at 2 a. m. Saturday in the Aspinwall Veterans Hospital.
A veteran of the Spanish-American War, he served with Company K, 10th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, and was on active duty in the Philippines.
Born near Burnsville, he was the son of Dr. W. L. and Elizabeth Litman Grim. For a number of years he was employed as a painter and paperhanger.
He was widely known as a baseball player for a long period.
He is survived by his wife and a daughter in New York and one brother, John E. Grim, Washington, R. D. 5.
The body is at the Brownlee Funeral Home, Claysville, where funeral services will be conducted today at 1 p. m., in charge of the Rev. H. L. Henderson, pastor of the Claysville United Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Washington Cemetery.”
