766Draft board card notes name as “Corday Ocello Grimm.” He was classed as VI A in 1918.
766“Corday lived on Turtle Run. He left home at an early age to go to work. He met Ruby at the White Oak Church. They were married at the bride’s home by Rev. J. E. Shock. Their first home was at Downs, where Corday was employed at the Downs Station of Hope Natural Gas Co.
They later moved to RItchie Co. and bought a home in Pullman in 1920. The house was purchased from J. A. Cox for $2350 cash on May 25, 1920. He was employed by the telephone company and later by Carnegie Gas Co. from which he retired.
After retirement he worked for about 15 years for the Nay brothers (Cooster and Clairmont) on their wells.
Corday like to fish and hunt. Most of his work at home was done outside. He always raised a good garden and fruit trees. He also kept chickens and sometimes a hog or cow.
Corday belonged to the Odd Fellows Lodge at Pennsboro.
Corday and Ruby celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on Aug. 23, 1964.”
