She was invited to study at the former New York School of Music following her graduation from Salem College, but her stay was shortened by her service during most of World War II, in Washington, D. She was happily and joyfully employed as a music and English teacher at Pullman High School in Ritchie County during the year prior to its closing. She was later employed for 12 years by the Ritchie County School System working in Pennsboro, Ellenboro, Harrisville and Cairo Schols as an English teacher and a traveling music teacher. She was a 4-H All-Star and had been involved with the PTA at Pennsboro during her teaching career and the time her children were attending school. She greatly enjoyed sponsoring and directing many singing groups in the 1950’s and 1960’s and playing the piano and organ for many weddings and sadly at many funerals as well. She faithfully attended the Pullman High School reunions and was the last living former teacher of the school.

After her family and music, her true love was following the careers and lives of her classmates at Pullman High School, her fellow teachers and former students. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, now known as the Pennsboro United Methodist Church, where she had been a member of the choir and had helped with Sunday school and vacation Bible school.

She is survived by her husband of more than 60 years, Kenneth K. “Tom” McCullough, to whom she was introduced while playing the piano for a funeral at the Bethel Methodist CHurch in Pullman; by sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Diane McCullough of Pennsboro, Ken and Sue McCullough of Effort, Pa, and Rick and Marcia McCullough of St. Marys; cousins that were reared in the Grimm family home at Pullman and were like sisters to Dois, Kathleen Bee of Parkersburg and Jean McCauley of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Andy McCullough of Ridgeland, MS, RYan McCullough of Boston, MA, Chris McCullough of Morgantown, Erica Backus of Harrisville and Julia Hacker of Pennsboro; and her faithful caregivers and her loving physician, James Levos, M.
