Dale W. Grimm
Pennsboro, W. Va. — Dale W. Grimm, 73, of Williamstown, formerly of Pullman, W. Va., died Tuesday in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Parkersburg, following a long illness.
He was born in Oxford, W. Va., a son of the late Clem and Emma Prunty Grimm. He was a retired U.S. Postal Service System employee and served as a mail carrier in Ritchie County. He retired in April of 1975. He was a veteran of World War II, a holder of the Purple Heart, and had been a prisoner of war. He was a member of the Harris-Ritchie Post No. 3554 of the VFW at Harrisville.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Prunty Grimm; three sons, Charles Grimm of Stow, Ohio, Robert Grimm of Pullman and Tom Grimm of Williamstown; one daughter, Carla Grimm of Parkersburg; one half sister, Freddie Vogeding of Elizabeth, W. Va; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and infant son, two brothers and one sister.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, with the Rev. Hollie Thompson officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Friday.
In lieu of other memorial tributes, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Myrna Williams, 615 W. Main Street, Harrisville, W. Va.
At the request of the deceased his remains were donated to the West Virginia University Medical Center for the advancement of medical studies.
