“William Clark Grimm
Waynesburg native retired as Army lieutenant colonel
William Clark Grimm, 81, of 526 San Loranzo Court, Lady Lake, Fla., formerly of Waynesburg, died Thursday, November 9, 2000, in Leesburg Regional Hospital, Leesburg, Fla.
He was born May 1, 1919, in Waynesburg, a son of Myrtle V. Thomas and Homer R. Grimm.
Mr. Grimm was a member of University Methodist Church of Chapel Hill, N.C., a member of Order of the Purple Heart, Essex Troop Military Order F&AM Masonic Lodge 271, BPOE 757 of Waynesburg and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4793 of Waynesburg.
He attended University of Georgia at the Hinesville campus.
Mrs. Grimm retired as a lieutenant colonel with the U.S. Army after 28 years of active service on July 31, 1968. He served during World War II and in the Korean and Vietnam eras.
He also retired July 31, 1979, after 10 1/2 years of service as manager of professional relations activities with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina.
His first wife, E. Louetta Longstreth Grimm, whom he married November 4, 1941, died September 18, 1991.
His second wife, Alberta M. Trudy Kennedy Grimm, whom he married April 5, 1997, survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Kaye L. Bowers of Marietta, Ga., Louetta Darlyne Sayne of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Donna Lee Council of Durham, V.C.; three grandchildren, Kenneth C. Sayne Jr., Deborah J. Sheehan and Bonnie M. Sayne; three great-grandchildren, Esther Nix of Blacksville, W. Va., Suzanne Skvarch of Summerville, Ore., and John T. Kennedy of Mechanicsburg; and a sister, Faye R. Germany of Fort Worth, Texas.
Deceased are a brother, Forrest D. Grimm; and a sister, Oma J. Hillar.”

IN THE OBITUARY OF William Clark Grimm, published in Monday's edition, omitted were three surviving stepgrandchildren, Russell J. Nix, Abbey Skvarch and Anna L. Kennedy.
