“Samuel R. Kerr
Former employee of Consolidated Gas Supply
Samuel R. Kerr Jr., 78, of Delmont, died of a heart attack Thursday, December 4, 1997, while on a hunting trip in Greene County.
He was born October 26, 1919, in Delphine, a son of Philip Rex and Brooksie Etha Moninger Kerr.
Mr. Kerr was retired from COnsolidated Gas Supply at the Oakford Station. He was a member of the Greesburg Moose and Sinnemahoning Sportsman CLub.
Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Eva Jean Kuhn.
Also surviving are a son, Samuel R. Kerr Jr. of Trees Mills; two brothers, Kenneth “Jim” Kerr of Brave and Edison Kerr of Washington; two sisters, Irma Strope of Meyersdale and Marlene Phillips of Brave; two granddaughters, Stacey Shaffer of New Alexandria and Michelle Christner of Greensburg; and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are five sisters, Betty Jean King, Margaret Bateson, Maude and Annabelle Weaver and Faye Nelson; and two brothers, Eli and Raymond Kerr.”
