Obituary:
Raymond W. Kerr, 50, of 2678 Beverly Drive, Washington, died at 6:23 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 1973 of an apparent heart attack.
He was born March 23, 1923 at Delphine, a son of the late Rex and Broxsie [sic] Kerr who survives at Kuhntown. His wife Virginia Burge Kerr, who he married November 14, 1948 survives at Washington.
Surviving in addition to his mother and wife are three children: Raymond Dale with the United States Air Force at the Malmstrom Air Force Base at Great Falls, Montana, Glen Robert and Linda Kay, both at home.
Also surviving are eleven brothers and sisters, Mrs. Harold “Maude” Weaver of Washington, Mrs. Wiley “Margaret” Bateson of Oak Forest, Samuel L., Delmont, Kenneth R. of Brave, Mrs. Robert “Anna Belle” Weaver of Washington, Mrs. John “Irma” Strope, Myersdale, Eli F., Fairview, West Virginia, George Edison, Pine Bank, Mrs. Edward “Marlene” Phillips of Spraggs, Mrs. Thomas “Betty Joan” King, Waynesburg RD 4, Mrs. Robert “Edna Faye” Nelson of Kuhntown. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He had worked as a carpenter and was a member of Local 125 of the Carpenters Union. He was employed by the McAnallen Company of Washington. He served in the Asian and Pacific theaters during World War II having joined with the 178th Coastal Artillery Battalion. He was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church.”
