Kathryn M. Staggers
Former resident of Graysville area
Kathryn M. Staggers, 78, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Greene County, died at 6:10 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2005, in Washington Hospital, after suffering a stroke Thursday.
She was born May 7, 1927, in Richhill Township, Greene County, a daughter of Sanford Leslie and Mattie Leah Patterson Rush.
Mrs. Staggers resided in the Graysville area most of her life prior to moving to Pittsburgh in 1962. She was a member of Grandview Church of God in Pittsburgh.
She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, checkers and card games.
Her husband, Henry Earl Staggers, died May 2, 1952.
Surviving are five daughters, Marjorie, wife of Jerry Howard of Waynesburg, Mary Rogers of Spraggs, Shirley Staggers of Aliquippa, Virginia Mayne of Winchester, Va., and Stella Kay Staggers of Sycamore; four sons, John Staggers of Waynesburg, William Staggers of Rices Landing, Wayne Staggers of Carmichaels and Joseph Clark of Holbrook; a sister, Grace, wife of Arthur Conklin of Washington; 19 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are four sisters, infants Helen and Della Rush and Lillian Jones and Irene McEndree; and three brothers, infant Joshua Rush and John and Arthur Rush.
Friends will be received from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 8, with Pastor Randy F. Brant officiating.
