“Clarence F. Staggers
Formerly of Waynesburg
Clarence F. Staggers, 84, of Maple Courts in Danielson, COnn., died Thursday, January 24, 2002, in Roncalli Health Center in Danielson.
He was born November 27, 1917, in Waynesburg, a son of Stacy and Nellie Rush Staggers.
Mr. Staggers attended schools in Waynesburg, where he lived until moving to Danielson in 1983.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Staggers was employed for 13 years as a production worker for Grummon Allied Industries Corp. in Carmichaels, retiring in 1979.
He was a former member of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Moose Lodge, all in Waynesburg.
He enjoyed traveling.
On August 20, 1947, in Cumberland, MD., he married Bernice Gray, who survives.
Also surviving are a sister, Melvina Clark of Las Vegas, Nev.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three brothers, Robert, Norman and Donald Staggers; and two sisters, Kate Baker and Aldine Anderson.
Services were held in Danielson, with burial in Westfield Cemetery, Danielson. Arrangements were under the direction of Gagnon-Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 238 West Town Street, Norwich, CT 06360.”
