Misc. Notes
John apparently performed some service during the Revolutionary war, as he is listed as receiving a $20 annual pension as a veteran in Greene Co., PA from 1839 to 1843. He was married twice; the name of his first wife is unknown. He married his second wife, Elizabeth Yeater, around Jan. 1, 1814. She was born around 1787 in Maryland and died after 1880 in Greene Co., PA. It is not known which wife was the mother of Jacob R. Knisely.
112The Ames, Kniseley, & Wells Family book says John was born Dec. 14, 1773, which would negate him serving in the Revolutionary War.
