“Vada Lou Pettit
Centennial Church of God member
Vada Lou Pettit, 58, of Holbrook R.D.1, died at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2000, in her home after being seriously ill for the past two months.
She was born May 11, 1942, in Jackson Township, Greene County, a daughter of Sarah Ann Rhome and the late Stoy Edison “Jack” Morris.
Mrs. Pettit attended West Greene High School.
She resided in Jackson Township all her life, prior to moving to Center Township in 1977.
Mrs. Pettit was a member of Centennial Church of God and had been attending Maranantha Baptist Church.
She had assisted her husband in all aspects of operating the family dairy farm the past 23 years.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her husband, Donald Richard Pettit, whom she married May 27, 1966; a daughter, Vada S. “Susie” Nelson and a son, Scott A. Pettit, both of Holbrook R.D.1; three sisters, Betty Weaver and Mildred Temple, both of New Freeport R.D.1, and Mabel Crawford of Holbrook R.D.1; three brothers, Harry, Jack and Herman Morris, all of Holbrook R.D.1; and two grandchildren, Alicia Nelson and Adam James Pettit.”
