Roy A. Horner
WOODSFIELD — Roy A. Horner, 82, of Holbrook, N.Y., formerly of Woodsfield, died Thursday (May 31, 2001) in New York. He was born May 17, 1919, in Wheeling, W. Va., son of the late G.A. and Ila Horner. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving 25 years. He was a member of the Ohio American Legion, Woodsfield American Legion Post 87, the Forty and Eight Club of Korean Veterans and a member of the Woodsfield Presbyterian Church.
He leaves his wife, Sarah V. Dennis Horner of Holbrook; a daughter, Mrs. Angelo (Jean Ann) Sparacia of New York; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Molina of Cleveland and Helen Norton of Warren; and a brother, Edgar Horner of Tipp City.
Friends may call 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home. Graveside service follows in Oaklawn Cemetery in Woodsfield with Rev. Colleen Finlay officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by the Belmont Veterans Council.
