Abraham was apprenticed to Jonathan Youde of Chester County, England in 1701. He arrived in Pennsylvania by 1711, and possibly as early as 1704. He became affiliated with the Quakers. In 1715 he lived in Aston Twp., Chester Co., PA until 1724, when they moved to a farm in Birmingham Twp., on Brandywine Creek.
