Jeremiah Ghrist died in 1901. His obit was contributed to the Fayette County USGenWeb Project.(6)
Jeremiah Ghrist died at his home near Woodglen on Monday, June 17, 1901, aged 75 years. Mr. Grist was born July 29, 1825, in Jefferson township. About 1848 he was married to Mary Layton. To this union were born 8 children, two of them died in infancy. He is survived by his widow, three sons Thomas and James of Allenport and Joseph of Kenneth, three daughters, Mrs. Perry Elder of Scottdale, Mrs John W. Campell of West Newton and Mrs George Buxton of Redstone, also one brother, James T. Ghrist of Bridgeport and one sister Mrs. Ja* Miller of Tippecanoe.
