“Myrtle G. Cooper, 85 of Vienna, WV died at her residence on Saturday, October 26, 2002. She was born in Wirt County, WV and was the daughter of the late Cleve and Cigal Cox Sheppard. She had worked for the American Viscose Corp., the Palestine School as a cook, had worked for Roberts General Store in Elizabeth, WV.
Survivors include her son, Gene Cooper and his wife Norma of Mineral Wells, WV, two daughters, Deloris O’Dell of Vienna, and Janet Burnfield and her husband Don of Vincent, Ohio. Eight grandchildren, Jenean & Steve Cheuvront, Tim Cooper, Lori & Dave Posey, Chris & Sara O’Dell, Alisa & Jeff Friend, Kevin & Sabrina O’Dell, Debra & Jeff Radabaugh, Brant & Karen Burnfield. Three step grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 11 step great grandchildren. Two brothers, John Sheppard and his wife Mary, Jim Sheppard and his wife Lois. Five sisters, Thelma Light, Mary Lou Wyrick and her husband Jim, Mae Harper, Wanda McCoy, Joan Fulton and her husband Dick. Sisters-in-law Mary Lou Sheppard, Clarice Sheppard and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur M. Cooper in 1995, her parents, four brothers, Lynn, Donald, Paul and Charles Sheppard. One sister Juanita Chipman and a step grandson, Gregg Burnfield.
Services will be on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with Tom Butterfield, Ron Laughery and Eugene Conger officiating. Burial will follow in the Sayer Cemetery in Wirt County, WV. Friends may call at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Belpre on Monday from 1 PM to 9 PM.
