Note that his name does not match with the names given in the census and city directory for his father, but obituary clearly identifies him as son of Walter C. Hormell.
Obituary, The Morning Herald (Uniontown, PA), Saturday, September 10, 1927:
“John Graham Hormell, aged 31 years, died at his home in Brownsville, Friday afternoon, September 9, 1927, at 4:15 o’clock. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Margaret Dunn Hormell; his father, W. C. Hormell; stepmother, Mrs. Eleanor Hormell, and one sister, Mrs. F. O. Wilson of Wilson. Mr. Hormell was a veteran of the World war, serving overseas in the United States Navy as a member of the crew of the battleship Arkansas. He was a member of the Brownsville Amercian Legion, Lodge No. 60, F. and A. M.; Brownsville Fire Department; Brownsville Royal Arch Chapter No. 164; St. Omar Commandery No. 7, Knights Templar; Uniontown Lodge of Perfection; New Castle Masonic lodge; Mystic Shrine, Pittsburgh, and Syria Temple, Pittsburgh.
Funeral services will be held in the First Presbyterian church in Brownsville Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock with the Rev. E. M. Bowman officiating. Burial will be in Redstone cemetery. The Masonic ritual will be recited at the grave.”
