“Theodore E. Acklin Sr.
Theodore E. Acklin Sr., 70, of Newell, Pa., died Monday, January 30, 2006, in his residence, following a 15 year battle with (ALS) Lougering diease. [sic.; Lou Gehrig Disease]
He was born November 17, 1935, in Jefferson Township, Fayette County, a son of the late Ockle and the late Julia Kovach Acklin.
He was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, Belle Vernon.
He was retired from Christie Park, McKeesport as a welder.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Betty Hela Ackiln and two sons: Theodore E. and wife, Rochelle Acklin Jr. of Newell, Gregory and wife, Vicki Acklin of Ruffsdale, Pa.; daughter, Sheryl and husband, Mark Kaniski of Hagerstown, Maryland; two brothers: David and wife, Emma Acklin, Ockie and Linda Acklin; sister, Betty Cabala all of Ohio; three grandchildren: Nicholas Kaniski, Dina Acklin and Catherine Kaniski.
There was no public viewing. Interment was private for the family. Arrangements were handled by the Eley/McCroy Funeral Home, Inc., Fayette City Pa.”
