“Erna Deem
Erna ‘Ernie’ Norman Stemple Deem, 89, passed away Dec. 23, 2006, at Ohio Valley Health Care, Parkersburg.
She formerly resided in Vienna and at Market Manor in Parkersburg. She was born June 19, 1917, at MacFarlan, Ritchie County, the daughter of the late John W. and Elizabeth Smith Norman of Calhoun County.
She had worked at O’Ames Co., Sears Paint Department and was a homemaker; she enjoyed camping and trout fishing and was Methodist.
She is survived by a son, Marvin Stemple and his wife, Peggy, of Arnoldsburg, W.Va.; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Forest F. Stemple; her second husband, Walter L. Deem; one son, Gerald Bryan Deem; one grandson, Michael Deem; three sisters; and three brothers.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, with the Rev. Jim Lynch officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Evergreen South Cemetery.”
