Wiliam Dale Hanlin, 85, of Barberton, OH passed away November 6, 2008. He was born in Elkview, the son of Plenny Amos and Nellie G. Dye Hanlin. He was a 1942 graduate of Tanner High School and a 1950 graduate of Glenville State College.
Dale had been a Barberton resident most of his life. He retired from the Babcock and Wilcox Company after 32 years of service. He was also a proud Army Veteran, having served in both World War II and the Korean War.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Janell Fling Hanlin; daughter, Diane (Lee) Keuck of Cape Coral, FL; sons, Mike of Barberton, and Steve (Terri) of Copley, OH. Grandchildren: Joe, Eric, and Bryan Hanlin, Nikki Reynolds, Jodi Keuk, and Megan and Cole Hanlin; and ten great-grandchildren. Sisters are Lois Phillips, of Meridan, ID; Fern Coberly and Phyllis Butler of Elyria, OH; brothers, Paul of Wellington, OH; and Bruce of Edmond, OK; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Carl; two sisters, Donna Whiting, and infant Joanne; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Hanlin.
Funeral services were held on November 10, at Silva-Hostetler Funeral Home in Barberton with private interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
Two nephews reside in Gilmer County: Jack Whiting of Linn, and Larry Butler of Normantown.
