Fred attended Columbia University in New York City. “Uncle Fred never remarried. He continued teaching until retirement to Albuquerque and then continued doing some teaching atht eh University there until his sudden death. Uncle Fred was buried in Lenox. I adored Uncle Fred. He came to see us every summer when he wasn’t teaching, so always looked forward to having him with us each year. Didn’t know all of the family, of course, and probably prejudiced, but I thought he was the handsomest of the family, one of the kindest meen that I have ever known and very bright and articulate.”1537
