Orval “Dale” Grimm, Jr., 82, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away June 10, 2019.
He was born in Salem, WV. August 12, 1936 to Orval Dale and Alice Elizabeth Fisher Grimm.
He graduated from Salem High School and Salem College with a BA Degree in Education and received his Masters Degree in Health Education from W.V.U. He spent 39 years as an Educator in the Wood County Schools System. Most of those years were spent at Parkersburg High School where he taught P.E. and was a Coach. He loved his Big Reds.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Karen Corrie Grimm; His son, Jonathan (Chelsea) and their children, Jackson and Levi of Perrysburg, OH. His daughters, Allison Smith (Kyle) and their children, Madison and Easton of Rivesville, WV. and Michelle Lee (Daniel) and their son Ryan of Salem, VA. He is also survived by his twin sister, Betty Gail Mitchell of Vancouver, B.C., Canada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Charles Duane and William Dean and a sister, Wilma Jean Current.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Chaplain David Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8p.m.
