Wallace H. "Pete" Broadwater, 84, of Waynesburg, died at 10:55 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015, in Golden LivingCenter, Waynesburg.
He was born Thursday, November 20, 1930, in Mather, a son of the late Charles W. Broadwater and Emma Hamilton Broadwater.
Mr. Broadwater attended Calvary Baptist Church, Lippencott.
He was a member of Jefferson Senior Citizens. He also was a member of Winterburn Mountain Club in Clearfield since 1950 and a member of the former Elks Club Lodge 757, Waynesburg.
When his health permitted, Mr. Broadwater enjoyed dancing, hunting, fishing and traveling with his wife.
He worked for 15 years as a coal miner at Mather Colleries and later worked for 23 years for Consol Energy at Humphrey No. 7 Mine, from where he retired in 1987.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita G. Stockdale Broadwater, whom he married January 11, 1951; a daughter, Vickey Lynn (Rondall) Alfred of Waynesburg; a son, Jeffrey Ryan (Timi) Broadwater of Carmichaels; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Duke of Mather; a brother, Don Broadwater of Jefferson; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are four brothers, Edward Broadwater, Charles Broadwater Jr., Leroy Broadwater and Eugene Broadwater.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the time of service, Tuesday, June 2, in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, with the Rev. Nick Bardo and Lay Pastor Brian King officiating. Entombment will be in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
