“Memorial Service for Mrs. C. Grim Held Sunday
Memorial services for Mrs. Carl (Edith) Grim were conducted Sunday afternoon at the First Christian Church in Lexington, with Pastor Philip Olsen officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.
Mrs. Grim died Saturday evening, July 7 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elgas Grim in South Pasadena, Calif.
She was born March 7, 1891 at Overton to Thomas J. and Hannah Cheney Shull. She attended district 12 school and graduated from the Overton High School. She attended Kearney ormal School for two years and taught in the Holbrook High School one year.
On Aug. 30, 1912 she was united in marriage to Carl Grim and to this union one son was born. They moved from their Overton home to Hillside Precinct where they farmed for ten years.
In December 1978, Mr. and Mrs. Grim went to visit in the home of their son Elgas, as had been their custom for many years. Mrs. Grim became ill Jan. 12 and after more than two months of hospitalization was cared for in the home of her son and daughter-in-law.
She was associated for many years with the Extension Club, Lexinton Woman’s Club, knitting clubs during the war years, and was active in many church activities and community affairs.
Survivors include her husband, Carl; son and daughter-in-law, Elgas and Dorothy Grim, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
