“Emmett E. Grimm, a retired San Francisco police officer, died Monday at 12:45 p. m. at his East Liverpool home following a long illness. He was 72.
A resident of this vicinity for six years, Mr. Grimm served 26 years on the San Francisco department, retiring in 1951. He was born May 23, 1893 , in Toronto to the late Erse Grimm and Minnie Smith Grimm.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Myrtle Grimm; four sons, Earl Grimm, Emmett Grimm and Donald Grimm of San Francisco and James Grimm of Bellaire; seven daughters, Mrs. Margaret Sayers of New Brighton, Mrs. Mary Hupp of Midland, Mrs. Evelyn Dishler of Beaver, Mrs. Eve Love and Mrs. Beulah Hamilton of San Francisco, Mrs. Madge Heston of Pacifica, Calif., and Mrs. Bernice Houghton of Daly City, Calif.; two half-brothers, Wilbert Taylor of East Liverpool and Raymond Taylor of Wellsville; 38 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.”
