“Martha Jane Grimm, 90, of Elkview passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Shafer's Room and Board, Clendenin, after a long illness.
Martha was born on March 4, 1920, to the late Bill and Gersha Older Proctor of Charleston. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn "Abe" Grimm; and her sister, Mary Frances Creasy.
She was a graduate of Elkview High School and Charleston Business College and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. She was baptized on November 14, 1965, at Wesley Methodist Church and last attended Mount Tabor United Methodist Church in Pinch.
Surviving are son, William "Bill" Grimm and wife Faye of Pinch; daughters, Sarah Garton and husband Dayton of Potterville, Mich., and Peggy Johnson and husband Eddie of Pinch; 13 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Shafer's Room and Board and also the staff of Hospice Care in Charleston for their love and care during Mom's illness.
Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at Hafer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Danny Kinder officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.”
