“Russell B. Grimm
VIENNA - Russell B. Grimm, 80, of Vienna passed away Feb. 14, 2003, at Worthington Manor.
He was born in Akron, Ohio, a son of the late James Jackson and Minnie Davis Grimm. He retired from Goodyear Aerospace Plant D after 28 years of service. He was a member of Cisco Community Church, where he had served as Sunday school superintendent. He served as a certified EMT and fireman on the volunteer fire department in Uniontown, Ohio, prior to his retirement. He had also been a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps (3Cs) in his youth and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, having participated in five military campaigns including the Normandy Invasion. He served in the Ohio Army National Guard into the 1980s. With his wife Opal, he had three children, the Rev. H.R. Grimm, Sandra Harper and Mescal Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Mae Hoover Grimm; one son, the Rev. H.R. Grimm (Debie) of Chillicothe; three daughters, Sandra (Ray) Harper of Ritchie County, Mescal Smith of Barberton, Ohio, and Barbara Hare; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and one brother, Lester C. (Mildred) Grimm of Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Opal A. Putnam Grimm; one son-in-law, Jim Smith; and two sisters, Pearl Reichardt and Nina Lough.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home of Vienna, the Rev. Melvin Conley officiating. Burial will follow in the Terry Cemetery in Ritchie County with American Legion Post 15 providing military graveside rites. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.”
