“Mrs. Mary Hormell
Mrs. Mary E. Acklin Hormell, 78, of 196 East Elm Street, Waynesburg, a resident of the Brownsville area for 75 years, died at 11:40 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 1958, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg.
Mrs. Hormell was born March 7, 1880, in Amity, a daughter of the late William Nelan Acklin and Florence Covert Acklin. She had resided with her daughter, Mrs. Robert E. Bell, Waynesburg, for the past nine months. She was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church, Brownsville.
Her husband, Isaac Cleaver Hormell, died Feb. 5, 1937.
Surviving are five daughters, Florence, wife of Robert E. Bell, Waynesburg; Nellie, wife of Roy Massy, Manistique, Mich.; Velma, wife of Matt Frazer, Pittsburgh, Kan.; Maud, wife of Kenneth Waters, Pittsburgh and Jennie, wife of Irvin Markley, Brownsville, R. D. 1; one son, Robert A, Uniontown; one brother, Wiliam Arthur Acklin, Coraopolis; 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were two sisters, Mrs. William Dearth in December, 1957, and Mrs. I. P. Faddis, Mary, 1953 and one brother, Isaac Covert Acklin, in February 1956.”

D. L. Robertson, pastor of Brownsville Wesleyan Methodist (illegible). Burial in Westland Cemetery, Centerville
