Born: June 10, 1946 Died: August 11, 2016
Roger Wayne Platt, 70 years of age, died peacefully at home on August 11, 2016.
He served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War, from February 1967 until November 1970. He taught Science and Math at Tavares, FL Middle School where he spent his entire 33 year teaching career.
He is survived by his wife: Sharleen Platt; his brother: James Gary Platt (Kendra); his sisters: Janis Stone (Steve), and Karen Platt-Morris. His parents, John and Jessie Platt predeceased him as did his daughter Kristie Lynn White.
Any remembrances for Roger should be given to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778-9648. Inurnment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL 33513. Online condolences may be made at www.beyersfuneralhome.com. Beyers Funeral Home, Umatilla.
