Dr. James Franklin Marshall

Fairlea-Dr. James Franklin Marshall, 77, passed away on Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley.

Born Aug. 28, 1925, at Connellsville, PA, he was the son of the late Allison and Bernice Knight Marshall.

Dr. Marshall was a retired medical doctor in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea, from which he retired in 1981. He was a World War II Navy veteran.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Marilyn Lucille Barkley Marshall; daughter, Joanne Leslie Marshall; and brother, Robert Marshall.

Survivors include: son, James Thomas Marshall of Fairlea; sister, Louisa Marshall of Altoona, PA; brother, Thomas Marshall of Birmingham, AL; and several nieces and nephews.

The body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held Monday, Feb. 17, at 1 p.m. at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Pastor Tim Dillon officiating
