Arthur J. Archibald, 72, of 542 Eastwood St., a former Painesville grocer, died of a heart condition at 3:30 Monday at his home.

He was born in Eagleville but had lived in the Geneva area most of his life. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Geneva and the Methodist Church of Rock Creek.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Wright Archibald; a daughter, Mrs. Mary A. (Kenneth) Reno of Navarre, O.; a brother, Fred of Corvallis, Ore., one grandson and several nieces and nephews.
