Charles R. “Sam” Swan, 85, of Middlebourne departed this life Friday December 27, 2019 in Sistersville General Hospital. He was born June 18, 1934 in Tyler County the son of the late Arthur Swan and Juanita Kissinger Swan Kevesdy.
 
Sam was a retired employee of the former Ormet Corporation, Hannibal, OH and he was a United States Army Veteran and a Baptist.
 
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Arthur Lee Swan and a daughter Melissa Jane Swan Chandler. A sister Barbara Jo Smith.
 
Sam is survived by his wife Alice F. Bassett Swan. Three daughters; Rhonda (Jay) Jacobs, Paden City, Robin Swan, Sistersville and Pamela (Kevin) Clark, Alma. Two sisters; Roberta Walton and Bernice Thomas both of Middlebourne. Thirteen grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren.
 
There will be a grave side service 2:00 pm Monday at the Middlebourne Cemetery. Pastor Bud Bassett will officiate.
