Isabelle Moore Fox, 91, beloved wife for 70 years of Richard “Zeke” Fox, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2015. Isabelle was a dear and caring person. She loved her church, and played the organ for over 60 years at St. Luke United Methodist Curch. She enjoyed her role of homemaker and was known for her delicious cooking and baking. She worked for ten years in the office of Dr. Donald Cunningham.
Isabelle was born Oct. 25, 1923 and grew up in Smithburg, the oldest of the 11 children of Thelma and Harley Moore. In addition to her husband, she will be sadly milled by her son, Dr. Donald Fox and his wife, Nancy, of Charleston, S.C.; two cherished grandchildren, Dr. Jennifer Fox of Charleston, S.C., and Dr. Adam Fox of Richmond, Va.; and her siblings, Marlin Moore and his wife, Gloria, of Dayton, Texas, Darrell Moore and his wife, Helen, of West Unon, Eileen Spurgeon and her husband, Bob, of Hurricane, Orma Yeater of West Union, Bob Moore and his wife, Martha, of Smithburg, Cathie Moore of Vienna, Carolyn Cumpston and her husband, Guy, of Parkersburg, Marilyn Wright and her husband Jack, of Mineral Wells, Beth Wright and her husband, Larry, of Williamstown and Ruby Carpenter and her husband, Richard of Parkersburg. Isabelle’s large family has about 285 living members; including a kind and much-loved niece, Terri Harrison.
Celebration of Isabelle’s life will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 10, at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, St. Albans, with Pastor Richie McNeil officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Gathering of amily and friends will be from noon until the time of service Friday, at the funeral home.
