Misc. Notes
In a letter to Donald & Evelyn Grimm ca. 1975, Marvel Broadbent Grimm says that Melvin was the last boy born, calling him “the little boy that died, wasn’t very old.”
In a letter from Charles N. Grimm, Jr. to Mike Grimm, dated March 20, 1997, he wrote, referring to Marvel’s letter, “she said there was a boy born after Uncle Bill that died. Uncle Bill said he didn’t know of any. The boy’s name was Melvin.”
Death certificate shows he was stillborn at about five months gestation, on a houseboat on the Back River (back channel of the Ohio River) in Neville Township.
