George Henry Darnell, 88, of Mountain, died Tuesday afternoon, October 4, 1949, at 3:15 o’clock, at his home.
He was born in Tyler county May 9, 1861, the son of the late Aaron and Jane Pierpoint Darnell. He was married three times. He was married to Lavina Kendall, January 16, 1879, who is deseased [sic]. he was married to Sarah V. Moore May 19, 1907, who is deceased. On March 5, 1949, he married Elva Bradford, who survives.
Survivng are his widow, Mrs. Elva J. darnell; two sons, Albert Darnell, of Bearsville; Everett Darnel, of Hebron; four daughters: Mrs. Mary C. Maple, Pennsboro, Mrs. Rosa C. Hamilton, of Wick, Mrs. Lurena J. Davis, of Mountain, Mrs. Alice McCullough, of Pennsboro, Route 2.
The deceased had been a Christian for 70 years. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at [missing] o’clock from the Mole Hill Union Chapel, with the Rev. Manly {missing] Collins officiating. Burial was madein the McKim cemetery.
The McCullough funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
