“Mrs. Darnell Dead
Jane Pierpoint Darnell, wife of Aaron Darnell, deceased, died at the dome [sic] of S. T. Darnell, in Tyler county, March 14th, at the advanced age of 101 years, 10 months and 15 days, she having been born on April 29, 1820. She was the mother of fourteen children, seven of whom survive her. St. T. Darnell, Central, George, of Mole Hill, Maggie Kendall of McKim, Amanda Hanlin, of Elkview, Ulysis Darnell, of Sistersville, Eliza Elmer, of California. She is also survived by 36 grandchildren, 95 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Oak Grove church March 15, by Daniel Dotson and interment was made in the Oak Grove cemetery.”

Mannington, March 23 — N. C. Grim of Brookside received a message Tuesday night announcing the death of his grandmother, Mrs. Jane Pierpont Darnell, at her home in Pennsboro.

Mrs. Darnell was 102 years old, and was a cousin of the late Francis H. Pierpont of Fairmonth, at whose home she frequently visited in her girlhood days. She was the mother of fourteen children, seven of whom survive, also thirty-six grandchildren and ninety-five great-grandchildren.
