James R. Grimm
ames R. "Hop" Grimm, 85, of Washington, died Thursday, March 10, 2016, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township.
He was born July 27, 1930, in Isabella, a son of the late Alva and Maye Arnett Grimm.
Mr. Grimm was a member of Church of the Covenant, Washington, where he served as a deacon, elder and usher.
He was a 1948 graduate of Uniontown High School.
Mr. Grimm was co-owner, along with his son, of Car Care Center in Washington. He retired in 1992.
He served in U.S. Army.
Mr. Grimm was a past master of Sunset Lodge 623, F&AM. He was also a member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Wa-Cha-Gree Forest 149 and Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Pittsburgh.
On January 27, 1951, in Uniontown, he married Edna A. Savage, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Donald L. (Linda D.) Grimm of Washington; a daughter, Cindy L. Barnhart of Freeport, Maine; a brother, William "Whitey" Grimm of Delray, Fla.; five grandchildren, Patrick (Eileen) and Jason T. Grimm, Elizabeth (Dan) Chabot and Tyler and Lauren Barnhart; and three great-grandchildren, Acadia and Lilliana Chabot and Evelyn Grimm.
Deceased is a son, James A. Grimm, and a brother, Ronald Grimm.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 14, with the Rev. Stuart D. Broberg officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
