GRIMM, Claude E. Native of West Virginia, passed away in Carmichael, CA, on June 12, 2007, at the age of 89. After graduating from WVU, he enlisted in the United States Navy in 1942, serving as a Torpedo Bomber Pilot in WWII. He married the love of his life, Mary Walters, in Jan. 1946. In 1947 Claude enrolled in the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science. After graduating he served as Dean and co-owner until his retirement in 1985. He was an inspiration to his students and very well respected by all who knew him. He was a mentor, a good listener and a quiet source of strength who cared unselfishly for others. His quick wit, humor and love of storytelling were enjoyed by all. He loved being with his family, dancing, piano, jazz, and traveling the world with Mary and close friends. Claude was preceded in death by his grandson Bret. Missing him greatly are his loving wife of 61 yrs., Mary; children, Jeff (Bobbi) Grimm of Chico, Mike (Karen) Grimm of Diamond Springs, and Claudia (Rob) Hollingsworth of Carmichael; grandchildren, Jesse (Cambria), Lauren, Brady, Melissa (Tim Angelo), Dustin, Casey and Kristen; great-grandchildren, Brennen and Shaylee and many more loving family members and friends. The memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 2:00 p.m., at the Carmichael Presbyterian Church (Carmichael, CA). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carmichael Presbyterian Church (Legacy of Faith), California Funeral Directors Scholarship Fund or the charity of your choice.
